Not all hair and scalp disorders can be cured, but they all can be controlled by following the advice of your trichologist. Some disorders are treated externally and some internally depending on the diagnosis. Externally the hair is at risk from chemical use, poor use of hair equipment, traction from braiding and weaving or self-inflicting habits of pulling the hair, which can trigger off a condition (trichotillamania). Internally the hair is at risk from the client having a poor diet, erratic lifestyle, alcohol, smoking, ill health, stress, these amongst others interrupts the growth cycle and cause the hair to fall out. We studied in the conference centre at Cranfield University (Beds) under Frank Taylor PhD and trained with Brian Plunkett (MIT) who is a Member of the Institute of Trichology.
